2007 CIBR Side Dish and Dessert Competitions
We had a great time in 2005 and for some reason failed to do them
last year. But they are back for 2007.

$300 in additional prize money in each category - no additional charge to enter. Open to any registered KCBS team.
Once again, the ingredient categories must include apples in some fashion in the dessert entries and the side dish entries must include pumpkins or squash. Your entire entry must be prepared on site, in Arthur, after you arrive. Your only heat source used in preparation must be wood, charcoal or pellets on a grill, smoker, hibachi or whatever. No gas or electric motorhome stoves or ovens. You may use your indoor facilities to prepare your entry, but all heat must be applied outside your vehicle, including melting your chocolate (which is common on many of the desserts.) Anything may be used as decoration or an accessory to your entry. No limitation.
Two aspects will be scored, overall appearance and taste/flavor/texture (generally, do the judges like it when they put it in their mouth.) We will have the judges score the entries appearance on a 1-10 basis on the entries own merits, and then go back and score the taste on a one to 10 comparative basis. In other words, each entry may be a beautiful and all may receive a 9 or 10 but then each judge will decide his/her top pick for number one and work down for the other scores. All judges will score all entries. Scores from all judges in both categories will be combined for overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
BYO all your own supplies, nothing will be provided but the check to the winners. Apples and Pumpkins/Squash
You will be able to register for this event when you set up. No preregistration will be required.
